In today’s society, we keep hearing the terminology, “Eat Clean.” What exactly does that mean?
To us, it means that you should focus on eating nutrient dense foods. We should all be eating fresh, whole, real foods. You can do this by making at least half your plate vegetables, as well as by eating fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. It means eating foods that have short nutrition labels, or no label at all. After all, an apple doesn't come with a nutrition label- it doesn't need one, what you see is what you get.
Our bodies are not meant to be consuming processed 'food-like' products; the body doesn't know what to do with them. If you think it’s bad, it probably is!
Here's a challenge for the rest of the week, and hopefully next week: don't eat any food that contains an ingredient you can't pronounce.
Yes, we know that the Holiday Belly Burn is coming to a close, but this isn't about one challenge it is about continued success; but as we keep saying, “This is a lifestyle change.”
On the topic of clean eating, when I don't have the time to prepare a good whole food meal my go to is Shakeology.
