Who Says Eating Clean has to be Complicated?

In today’s society, we keep hearing the terminology, “Eat Clean.” What exactly does that mean?

To us, it means that you should focus on eating nutrient dense foods. We should all be eating fresh, whole, real foods. You can do this by making at least half your plate vegetables, as well as by eating fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. It means eating foods that have short nutrition labels, or no label at all. After all, an apple doesn't come with a nutrition label- it doesn't need one, what you see is what you get.

Our bodies are not meant to be consuming processed 'food-like' products; the body doesn't know what to do with them. If you think it’s bad, it probably is!

Here's a challenge for the rest of the week, and hopefully next week: don't eat any food that contains an ingredient you can't pronounce.

Yes, we know that the Holiday Belly Burn is coming to a close, but this isn't about one challenge it is about continued success; but as we keep saying, “This is a lifestyle change.”

On the topic of clean eating, when I don't have the time to prepare a good whole food meal my go to is Shakeology.

The following foods are just some of the ingredients in your daily scoop:

  • Whey protein

  • brown rice protein

  • pea protein

  • sacha inchi

  • quinoa

  • chia

  • flax

  • amaranth

By having these daily, you are:

  • Repairing and building your muscles (so you get lean and strong).

  • Reducing your hunger and food cravings (so you stop sabotaging yourself).

  • Helping to keep your blood sugar steady (so your body stops converting everything to fat).

  • Creating healthier skin, hair, and nails (so you look your best).

  • Helping to support brain function to help promote alert thinking and well-being (so you can think clearly and be productive).

  • Helping to support your immune system to help you stay healthy and strong (less sick days means more fun).

All that in just one shake! Plus, there are about 70 more ingredients that all have superpowers too!! That’s why it’s called Nutrition Simplified.

Drink up!! If you are interested in trying it out, please check in with me at the studio or learn more at Shakeology.com
